UEFA Champions League is the premier european football club competition played every year along with the traditional domestic league seasons across whole europe. Champions League formerly known as “European Cup” was established back in 1955 and all the league champions of countries associated with “UEFA” were invited to take part in the yearly competition. European Cup was re-branded in 1992 and it was changed to Champions League where even the runners-up, third and fourth place teams in their domestic league were invited. So far only 22 different teams has won the competition in its 60 year history. Real Madrid has won the competition record 11 times including 5 back to back wins in first 5 seasons from 1956 to 1960. AC Milan has won the competition 7 times while both Liverpool and Barcelona has won it 5 times each. Since the competition was re-banded in 1992 no team has manage to defend the title. UEFA Champions League is a yearly club competition in Europe which was established back in 1955 and used to be known as European Cup. 22 Teams has won the european cup so far with Real Madrid being the most successful winning 11 overall titles and first five consecutive 1955-56 season to 1959-60.

European Cup Era 1955 to 1991: european cup and the competition involved only knockout (home/away) ties with only league champion teams from european countries participated. Real Madrid won 5 back to back titles in the first 5 seasons and added another in 1966 making them the most dominant team in this era.
Modern Era 1992 to date: It was re-branded as UEFA Champions League and a group stages was added to the competition for the first time where even teams who finished 2nd or 3rd in top leagues could participate. Which brought alot more competition and since 1992 no team has manage to defend the title which goes to show that titles won after 1992 are worth alot more than in the “European Cup Era”. Real Madrid and Barcelona have been the two most dominant since new format was formed winning 5 titles each in modern era.
Overall spanish teams (Real Madrid 11 & Barcelona 5) has been the most successful winning 16 titles, Italian teams has won it 12 times (Milan 7, Inter 3 and Juventus 2) and English clubs also won 12 titles (Liverpool 5, Manchester United 3, Nottingham Forest 2, Aston Villa and Chelsea once). We dont usually post stuff about soccer cleats but this is one boot design which caught our eye and its highly recommended for hardcore Ronaldo fans.

The new Mercurial CR7 Gold boot is inspired from Nike’s Mercurial Vapor series which was first release a decade ago back in 2006. The new boot feature the same technology (albiet a ground-braking one) of Teijin microfiber upper and the Flyknit upper. Technology wise there is nothing new in the new boot as its pretty much based on standard Nike Mercurial Boot series but its the design which is a tribute to Ronaldo’s incredible achievement of becoming Real Madrid’s all time leading goal scorer.

Release Date: The New Nike Mercurial CR7 324k Gold Boot will be released in January 2016 and both Nike and Ronaldo will be hoping that will coincide with Ronaldo winning Ballon d’Or. It is likely to be a limited edition boot but Nike has yet to announce any details about the price of this beautiful Ronaldo but we can expect the boot to hit the shelves around Europe in January 2016.
